Hi I’m Sally, a Strategic Psychotherapist, with both lived experience and professional training, and I know how heavy life can feel when things don’t make sense.
That’s why I created Something In Common, because none of us move through life without heartache, hope, and everything in between.
My role is to walk alongside you, as you make sense of your story and support you in choosing what comes next.

Your wellbeing is my priority. I provide personalised care, focused support, and practical tools that lead to meaningful, lasting change in both life and relationships.
I draw on Strategic Psychotherapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), each grounded in proven methods and tailored to you. This work is focused, practical, and designed to create meaningful, lasting change.
I offer high-quality, personalised support in a way that’s accessible and realistic. With flexible options including single sessions, memberships, and online appointments, you can access the support you need in a way that works for your life.
Real life is complex. And while friends and family often mean well, their support can come with opinions, assumptions, or quick solutions that don’t always reflect what you truly need.
I offer a different kind of space; one that’s grounded, objective, and focused on what actually works for you.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, emotional eating, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, this isn’t about endlessly revisiting the past. While we can’t change what’s happened, we can change how you move forward and what happens next.
This is where we make sense of what’s been holding you back, and start changing what happens next.

Clinical Hypnosis helps us work with the patterns driving your thoughts, behaviours, and reactions. Instead of trying to override them, we shift them at the level they were formed, so you’re not stuck fighting the same things over and over.

Strategic Psychotherapy is a focused, practical approach that helps you understand the patterns behind how you think, feel, and respond. Rather than staying stuck in insight alone, we work on shifting those patterns so you can move forward differently, in a way that actually holds.

For couples and individuals who want to understand what’s going on and change how things move forward. Whether you’re dealing with conflict, disconnection, or a loss of trust, this is a space to work through what’s actually happening and shift the patterns that keep you stuck, so things can start to feel clearer and more steady again.

Dating today can feel confusing, inconsistent, and often discouraging. You can find yourself second-guessing, overthinking, or repeating patterns that don’t lead anywhere. This is a space to step back and understand what’s actually happening; your patterns, your choices, and what you’re drawn to, so you can approach dating with more clarity, self-trust, and a better sense of what truly works for you.
Confidential and compassionate support, that meets you where you are.
In as little as five sessions, I’ve helped people overcome addiction, manage anxiety, take control of their weight, and create meaningful changes in their lives. Knowledge matters, but it’s applied knowledge that transforms.
I don’t offer traditional talk therapy that dissects your past. My work is forward focused. You can arrive with trauma, labels or long held struggles but we won’t stay stuck there. We work beyond the problem to build what’s next.
My treatment plans are brief, and results driven. Most clients achieve their goals within three months or less. This is a collaborative process, your commitment and my strategic approach combine to create real, lasting change.
Note: Some cases of addiction, weight management & PTSD may require more extended support. We’ll discuss this during your initial consultation.

Working with Sally was truly life changing. I was tired of giving my time and energy to the wrong people, always hoping they’d change, ignoring red flags, and settling for potential instead of reality. I felt stuck in the same frustrating cycle, unsure how to break free. After just one session, my perspective shifted and from there with her help I learned how to set boundaries, trust myself, and stop accepting less than I deserved. Sally understood me and made it easy to let go of everything that had been holding me back 🩷Posted on Mary HolmesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
